Jobs That Don't Drug Test

You'll be happy to know that there are many jobs where regular drug tests are unheard of. Read on to learn more about jobs that don't drug test.

Many people find themselves looking for jobs that don't drug test. It is common for medical marijuana patients to be concerned about drug tests, as an employer could still fire them (or not hire them in the first place) due to their legal consumption of marijuana. It is also common for people to view drug testing as a violation of their privacy. If you're in this boat, you'll be happy to know that there are many jobs where regular drug tests are unheard of. h2>Starbucks Barista

Starbucks is known for having a laid-back drug testing policy, especially when it comes to low-level positions. While it is a bit more likely that someone in management would have to take a drug test, baristas do not have to take pre-hire tests at Starbucks. Drug tests may still be administered if someone in management suspects that an employee is getting high on the job or if a workplace accident occurs.

UPS Package Handler

While fellow shipping company FedEx is notorious for its harsh drug testing policy, UPS is more lax. Package handlers rarely get tested unless they appear to be using drugs on the job or are involved in a workplace accident. Delivery drivers are tested more often, as you might expect. Delivery drivers may have to take a pre-hire test and may have to take random tests after getting the position. Of course, they will have to take drug tests if they exhibit suspicious behavior or get into an accident.

Most Entry-Level Walmart Jobs

Walmart rarely requires pre-hire drug tests, even for management positions. An entry-level position at Walmart is very unlikely to require a drug test during the hiring process. The only exceptions to this are positions in the deli, auto center, and pharmacy. This is because pharmacies have to operate under strict rules and regulations and the deli and auto center require employees to work with dangerous equipment. Entry-level employees at Walmart are also seldom required to take random drug tests during their employment. However, as with all employers, Walmart will not hesitate to drug test employees if they appear to be intoxicated on the job or are involved in a workplace accident.

Remote Jobs

Remote jobs have become more common during the pandemic, and this is good news for people who do not want to take job-related drug tests. Remote jobs are very unlikely to require drug tests. This is because employees will not be on company property, nor will they be using company-owned machinery. Also, it would be difficult for companies to coordinate drug tests for employees and applicants that are in many places, instead of at one office. While many of the other jobs that do not require drug tests are entry-level blue-collar jobs, remote jobs that do not require drug tests may be high-level white-collar positions. Even high-level executive positions rarely require drug tests if the employee works remotely.
